This link is an actually reading about how the Federal officials denied the race to the top reform. He was saying that if people don't wake up then there would be enough money in the budget left. The government is passing these reforms that aren’t solving any problems. But they turn reforms that might actually a make a difference in education. The author argument is effective because it is true! His argument is clearly explained and he isn’t going easy on the topic.

“Community colleges are required to accept everyone, but next fall, they'll turn away some 200,000 students because they can't afford to offer enough classes.” Community college is a chance for people that didn't do so well in k through 12 to get an education. But if they are cutting that off than what will the future look like. College student are considered the future also. If they don't have anywhere to further their knowledge where do they go? The issue of community colleges turning down students because of budget cuts is insane. Why wouldn’t they want to educate the future?

The tactics that the author used to persuade me is he grabbed my attention with issues that he knew would directly affect people. Such as people with kids, people that care about the future, and also people that are currently going to school. He directly talked about issue that mostly everyone deals wit and this makes his argument that much better. He puts in his argument the information about college student, which links teenagers with adults. Also when you bring up college student they are out “short term” future they are going to fulfill jobs those adults already in. This should effect people that don’t care about the distant future because they this isn’t distinct it’s a couple years away.
