From the Mercury news editorial : The authors arguement is that if californias education continues to decline, then what everyone thought how great california was, will be in the garbage and it's reputation will be ruined. The Golden State has a reputation of the greatest public school systrems, and now that all the schools are running out of money, these results are frightening almost everyone that lives here, and people that were intending to come here. With teacher layoffs this does'nt help with poor facilities either. If the teachers are getting fired, and they're nobody to take care of the up in coming future why should the kids take pride in themselves. It seems to me a generation lost.Tax payers are a great deal in the community eith all the support they give to the schools and the categorial aid . The people who could care-less, about the k-12 education are a waste to a society, these people only care about their lawns and nothing else! If they have grand children they should worry that they don't have a good educaion and is on the edge of not being anything worthwile in the future. In the future we need doctors, lawyers, and engineers, but how casn my generation do this without any education? without any money?...
Way to many kids attend failing public schools that don't boost their education. The Mercury news explains that tax payers should be more raesonable with giving money with out complaining, but of coarse there will be an arguemnet on how it isn'nt their money there telling people to waste. Well i don't agree with that arguement i'm on the side with the Mercury news because this news editorrial gives the scope on both good and bad on both sides of the community. The rich side has always been unfair with sharing money with the other poor school systems. The funding of the schools back in the day were only good with certain schools, such as the good part of L.A. , the east side of L.A. did'nt get enough money at all for their schools and it was'nt equal.
