The author is doing a case study on how environmental racism is in our community in Richmond. In Richmond there is an oil refinery that is polluting the air. It makes the grass brown and the water green. This makes it heard to be healthy living under these conditions. This is environmental because they wouldn’t put this refinery in a rich neighborhood such as piedmont or the Oakland hills, or Orinda. They would only put these refineries in places where the community doesn’t have a voice. __NOT DONE
